My VG Music Picks #18 – Pursuit ~ Cornered (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney)

There are many reasons for an Ace Attorney fan to get excited for a new game. One of them is what the new Pursuit theme will sound like. Every game has had one and they are usually one of the best tracks. While this music pick might not be my favourite iteration, it’s easily the most recognisable, the most iconic and it was the first. My VG Music Picks #14 – Pyrite Town (Pokémon Colosseum)

If I had to pick one track that best summed up Pokémon Colosseum, it’d probably be this one: the theme that plays during your visits to Pyrite Town, one of the most plot-important locations in the game. The people behind Pokémon Colosseum tried to make a title that was more story-driven and more mature and while we can debate whether it succeeded or not, I think we can all agree this theme is pretty dang good. Despite my love for the Mario & Luigi series of RPGs, I had only recently managed to finally beat the very first entry: Superstar Saga for the GBA; a game that came out 12 years ago (look I’m slow, alright). I honestly consider it the weakest game in the series; something I know a lot of people will disagree with me on, but I won’t deny the charm it had. It had a great script, an interesting new world, fun combat and, of course, good music. Continue reading
