What I Think About the Red vs. Blue Season 13 Finale

(WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Red vs. Blue)

Earlier this week, the latest season of Roosterteeth’s hit machinima Red vs. Blue ended, finishing up the Chorus Trilogy (which consisted of Season’s 11, 12 and 13). Overall, I certainly enjoyed it. After ten seasons of the Freelancer story arc, I was a little nervous about how the series could continue. Most people would probably say that it would’ve been wise to end it before it lost steam and became a shadow of its former self, but I feel it managed to avoid that, thanks to the decision to tell a new story with these familiar characters and the show getting a new lead writer in Miles Luna. That all being said, though, let’s talk about that last episode, shall we? Continue reading

My VG Music Picks #18 – Pursuit ~ Cornered (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney)

There are many reasons for an Ace Attorney fan to get excited for a new game. One of them is what the new Pursuit theme will sound like. Every game has had one and they are usually one of the best tracks. While this music pick might not be my favourite iteration, it’s easily the most recognisable, the most iconic and it was the first. Five Nintendo Franchises That Should Get Movies

Videogame movies. We’ve all seen at least one and they have tended to range from passable to “Oh God this film is stabbing me in the soul and makes me want to vomit up my own intestines.” It’s probably for these reasons that Nintendo has very much kept its beloved characters away from the silver screen (though the failure that was the Super Mario Bros. movie probably helped).

Opinion on whether this is a good or bad thing seems split but with Shigeru Miyamoto’s recent announcement of them considering possible film adaptations, this naturally calls for speculation. So, here are five Nintendo franchises that I think could lend well to becoming films. Continue reading

Digimon: Digital Monsters – Digital Nostalgia (A Brief History)

WARNING: The following article contains mild spoilers for Digimon Adventure

DigimonDigitalMonsters-72241

I’m not a Digimon fan, or at the very least I haven’t been for roughly ten years. Yet when I saw the latest trailer for the upcoming Digimon Adventure tri., I found myself getting oddly excited. Clearly this is nostalgia at work but it kind of made me wonder how and when I fell out of the fandom. And for some reason I’m choosing to document this because why the hell not? So join me if you will on a trip down digital memory lane.

Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward – A Super, Smart, Scary, Suspenseful Story

Virtue's_Last_Reward_3DS_Boxart

Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward is possibly one of my favourite videogames of all time. I was actually surprised by how much I loved it since I only got it on a bit of a whim. It had received good reviews, particularly for its story, and I’m a sucker for a good story, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Little did I know what I was getting into. And with its sequel now on its way, what better time than to convince you lot to play it? … Well, probably when it first came out but I can’t time travel. Now, sit yourself down and get ready for the long haul because there’s a lot to get through, starting with the concept and plot. Continue reading

Heroes Reborn – My Superpower is Intense Apathy

Heroes

Anyone here remember Heroes? I do. Well, did you know it’s coming back? I remember rumours surrounding the show’s revival circling around a bit for a few years and it seems they held a bit of truth to them. The show was incredibly popular during its run and quickly expanded into other media that fleshed out the universe and told their own stories. It eventually ended after four seasons in 2010 and… boy, what an abrupt and unfulfilling ending it was. Continue reading
