Let’s Play Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!: Episode 1 – A New Yet Familiar Journey
Welcome to a brand new Entertainment Dome Let’s Play! Today, we begin our journey in Pokémon: Let’s Go and get to grips with the much simpler design.
The Entertainment Dome Episode 108 – The Mandatory “Why Anthem’s Bad” Episode
Last week on the Entertainment Dome, James and I had a very rambly session, where we discuss the newly announced Pokémon games, James expresses his disappointment with Anthem and I try not to talk about the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
Favourite Moments in Fiction #17 – Charizard VS Entei (Pokémon 3: The Movie: Entei – Spell of the Unown)
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Pokémon 3: The Movie: Entei – Spell of the Unown

In case you never listened to my friend James and I’s commentary on the third Pokémon movie, well, you should (I actually find it to be one of our better commentaries). But if you really don’t want to or don’t have the time, I’ll just quickly state that it’s easily my favourite of the many Pokémon anime films that have been made. Granted, I’ve not seen all of them but I very much doubt any of the later ones can top this.
It’s my favourite for a number of reasons – the atmosphere, the music, the sympathetic and interesting antagonist, the voice performances, the overall story itself – but the absolutely best scene in the whole film (in my opinion, at least) is easily the battle between Charizard and Entei. And considering they heavily advertised this fight (it’s on the frigging poster and VHS/DVD cover), those who worked on this movie knew how much of a draw it was. Continue reading
My VG Music Picks #68 – N’s Room (Pokémon Black 2 & White 2)
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the following:
Pokémon Black & White
Pokémon Black 2 & White 2
While this track technically appeared in Pokémon Black & White first, I decided to focus on the version that appeared in the sequel games since 1. it’s the version that’s on the official OSTs and 2. I think this version’s way creepier, which is fitting given what month I’m writing this in. However, I will be writing about the context the music is used from the first games since, well, that’s where said context comes from and it isn’t really touched upon all that much in the sequels. Anyway, enough rambling, let’s move on. Continue reading
The Entertainment Dome Episode 89 – Let’s Go Leak E3!
This week on the Entertainment Dome, James and I share are already outdated opinions on Team Sonic Racing, the new Pokémon games for Switch and some of the E3 leaks before the main event next week.
My VG Music Picks #53 – Battle! Ultra Beast (Pokémon Sun & Moon)
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Pokémon Sun & Moon
I instantly fell in love with the Ultra Beasts when they were first announced for Pokémon Sun & Moon. They were so alien in design, so unnatural looking and a little bit scary to boot. And on top of that, they have an amazing theme to go along with their appearances. Continue reading
Five of My Favourite Generation 7 Pokémon

About a couple of years ago, I wrote a list about thirty of my favourite Pokémon, but that was before the then upcoming seventh generation of games had come out – Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. These two games introduced a bunch of brand new catch-able creatures so, with the updated releases, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, still fresh in my memory, I figured I would follow up on that previous list and share a small sample of my favourite additions to the ever growing world of Pokémon.
Quick disclaimer – I’m only including brand new Pokémon so no Alolan forms. Continue reading
My VG Music Picks #50 – Battle! Ghetsis (Pokémon Black & White/Pokémon Black 2 & White 2)
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the following:
Pokémon Black & White
Pokémon Black 2 & White 2
Well, this is a first – two VG Music Picks in one! Why is that? Well, since this is technically the 50th one of these I’ve done, I figured I’d do something a little special. Plus, I can’t really write about one of these music tracks without mentioning the other. So, let’s quickly look at the two themes belonging to the main villain of the 5th Generation of Pokémon games. Continue reading
Random Rankings – Team Rainbow Rocket Leaders
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the following:
Pokémon Black & White
Pokémon Black 2 & White 2
Pokémon Diamond & Pearl
Pokémon Fire Red & Leaf Green
Pokémon Platinum
Pokémon Red & Blue
Pokémon Sun & Moon
Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon
Pokémon X & Y
Pokémon Yellow

Last week, it was revealed that the upcoming Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon would mark the return of Team Rocket – now under the new guise of Team Rainbow Rocket – and will consist of every main villain in the series thus far (at least in terms of the main games). Villainous team-ups are always great, so being able to see all these familiar antagonists return and getting another chance to kick their asses has got a lot of people excited, including me.
Battling the leaders of these diabolical organisations has always been the highlights of the series but, now that they’re all in a game together, how do they fare against each other? Which of them is as mighty as Mewtwo and who’s just as boring as Burmy? Let’s find out by subjecting them to a Random Ranking! Continue reading
