This week on The Entertainment Dome, we celebrate our 50th episode by doing what we always do – ramble about videogames. In this episode, I share my first thoughts on NieR: Automata, James preps himself for next week’s release of Mass Effect: Andromeda and the announcement of a new Steven Universe games leads onto a debate about who’s the worst character (apologies for the peaked audio).

Pokémon 4Ever: Celebi – Voice of the Forest (Movie Commentary)
With The Entertainment Dome’s 50th episode just around the corner, James and I figured now was a good time to get back to doing a movie commentary – specifically on the fourth Pokémon movie. Not only that, but this is a movie that, for once, we have very different opinions on.
Is it really as bad as James believes it to be? Or can I convince him otherwise? Listen on to find out. Syncing details are in the video.
Logan – The Wolverine Movie We Deserve

If you had seen both X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine, I wouldn’t blame you for being highly skeptical of watching a third solo movie starring everyone’s favourite, slash-happy mutant. But believe me when I say that Logan isn’t just better than those previous outings; it’s quite possibly one of the best comic book movies of all time.
Very loosely based on the Old Man Logan graphic novel (so no inbred, hillbilly Hulks here, thank God), the film is set in the not too distant future, where not only have mutants become practically extinct but the X-Men are long dead. A much older and much more miserable Logan (Hugh Jackman) now lives a semi-normal life as a chauffeur, alongside a severely ill Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart).
While he has very much quit the ‘hero’ gig and is kind of just counting down the days until he dies, Logan finds himself thrown into action once more when a young mutant girl named Laura (played by newcomer Dafne Keen) enters his life, having escaped from an organisation called Transigen that were trying to create mutant child soldiers. Logan and Xavier agree to help her flee to North Dakota, where a supposed safe haven for mutants called Eden awaits. Continue reading
The Entertainment Dome Episode 49 – Kingdom Hearts is Bullshit
This week on The Entertainment Dome, the lack of any recent news sends us on a whirlwind tangent involving Kingdom Hearts, the upcoming DuckTales reboot, the end of Jim Sterling’s lawsuit with Digital Homicide and so much more (apologies for the peaked audio).
My VG Music Picks #41 – God the Hundred (Project X Zone 2)
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Project X Zone 2
Sorry, folks, the Project X Zone 2 love-fest isn’t quite over yet. While I already did a whole article about some of my favourite music tracks from the game, there were still several that I omitted entirely. This is one of them. Continue reading
The Entertainment Dome Episode 48 – Gennai or Jedi?
After that annoying and unplanned two week hiatus, James and I return to The Entertainment Dome with a look at all the videogame betas James has been playing, a spoiler-filled look at the newest Digimon Adventure tri. movie and a brief but rage-filled talk about the Shadow of Mordor sequel (apologies for the peaked audio).
Twenty Characters I Want Playable in Project X Zone 3
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the following games:
God Eater
Project X Zone
Project X Zone 2
Solatorobo: Red the Hunter
Street Fighter V
Xenoblade Chronicles
What better way to round up this month of Project X Zone 2 rambling than a wish list of characters for a possible sequel? Back in 2014, the chances of my new favourite crossover game getting a sequel seemed pretty slim. Now, though, the odds seem slightly stronger, with producer Kensuke Tsukanaka even saying he wants to continue the series.
Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long for a third title but I’m optimistic (or maybe just delusional) that it will happen, and when it does, I’ll have my fingers crossed that at least some of these characters will make an appearance.
My only rules are that they have to be brand new characters (so no characters that appeared in either PXZ or Namco X Capcom), no characters that were already on the previous list I did and they have to be from Capcom, Sega, Bandai Namco or Nintendo IPs. Continue reading
Ten of My Favourite Music Tracks from Project X Zone 2
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Project X Zone 2
One aspect I didn’t mention in the Project X Zone 2 review was its soundtrack. As a crossover of many gaming franchises, it naturally draws most of its music from those franchises and gives them fancy new remixes. The first game did the same thing but, due to licensing issues, a lot of tracks had to be replaced (and some just flat-out removed) for the Western release.
PXZ 2, however, managed to avoid this pitfall and we were gifted with an untouched, complete soundtrack (though Japan still got an exclusive pre-order that offered the original versions of the remixes which sucks but what are you gonna do?). So, to continue the trend of me pretending I know what I’m talking about when it comes to music, here’s a quick list of ten of my favourite music tracks from the game. And believe me when I say that this list was much harder to make than the last one. Seriously, this is a really good soundtrack. Continue reading
Ten Favourite Characters in Project X Zone 2
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the following games:
Project X Zone 2
Tales of Vesperia
Xenoblade Chronicles
As I wrote in last week’s review, Project X Zone 2 has an arguably stronger cast of characters than its predecessor, with a healthy mix of familiar and not-so familiar faces. For some players, this game is the first time even seeing some of these characters, which means they need to make strong first impressions – they need to make us want to know more about them. And I’d say they certainly succeeded.
So, just because I did this last time, here are my personal ten favourite characters from the game. My one rule is that they have to be “new” characters, so no characters that also appeared in the first game. Continue reading
The Entertainment Dome Episode 47 – Never Kiss Anyone
This week on The Entertainment Dome, James and I have a lengthy discussion about the finale of RWBY Volume 4 and our hopes for the next volume, before moving onto a new section of the show which we use as an excuse to bitch about terrible endings of videogames.
