Last week was The Entertainment Dome’s 100th episode and James and I decided to spend it by discussing the Detective Pikachu trailer and how we’re weirdly excited for the movie, but not before I subject James to my dumb RWBY Volume 6 theories during the weekly recap.
On the most recent episode of The Entertainment Dome, I opened it up with a monologue about Masahiro Sakurai announcing that Piranha Plant would be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It was just something silly I came up with and I figured I may as well upload it here as well for you to read since I’m kind of low-key proud of it. So enjoy a very over-dramatic interpretation of the announcement. Continue reading →
This week on The Entertainment Dome, we actually get to talk about the first episode of RWBY Volume 6 this time, but not before going through all those juicy new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate details (apologies for the drilling sounds in the background).
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Super Mario Odyssey
It’s been over a year since Mario made his debut on the Switch with what is easily not just one of, if not the, best Super Mario game ever made, but one of the best games ever period. You only have to take a cursory glance at Super Mario Odyssey‘s success to know this. It was a game stuffed with content – things to do, places to explore and challenges to complete, but never once did it feel bloated. It was brimming with imagination and just really fun to play. It was an adventure befitting its title of ‘odyssey,’ bursting with so many memorable moments. Continue reading →
This week on the Entertainment Dome, James’ plans to talk about the first episode of RWBY Volume 6 are shot down due to me not watching it (oops) so we make up for it by sharing our opinions on the first four episodes of the new JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series and the new season of Doctor Who (apologies for the audio peaking).
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the following:
Pokémon Black & White
Pokémon Black 2 & White 2
While this track technically appeared in Pokémon Black & White first, I decided to focus on the version that appeared in the sequel games since 1. it’s the version that’s on the official OSTs and 2. I think this version’s way creepier, which is fitting given what month I’m writing this in. However, I will be writing about the context the music is used from the first games since, well, that’s where said context comes from and it isn’t really touched upon all that much in the sequels. Anyway, enough rambling, let’s move on. Continue reading →
WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Following on from last week’s VG Music Pick, let’s take a quick look at what could be argued as being one of the most iconic scenes from the first Professor Layton game. Hell, you could probably make an argument that it’s one of the most iconic scenes in the franchise and helped set an example for how action scenes in the series worked. Continue reading →
I’m actually kind of shocked that it’s taken me this long to write about some music from the Professor Layton series, especially the good old prof’s theme music itself. The series became an instant favourite of mine when it launched back in 2008 thanks to its range of interesting and brain-taxing puzzles, lovely visuals, wonderful characters, off-the-wall storytelling and, of course, atmospheric music. And while Layton’s theme has remained relatively unchanged throughout the series, there’s a very good reason for that – it’s perfect already. Continue reading →
Last week on The Entertainment Dome, James and I had a surprisingly brief recap of the last couple of Attack on Titan episodes (which were disgusting, BTW), before moving on to a bunch of the announcements from the latest Nintendo Direct.
This week on The Entertainment Dome, we finally get round to beginning our recaps for Attack on Titan Season 3 and cover/ramble about the first four episodes, before ending things with a quick and jumbled talk about the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate announcements (apologies for the peaked audio).
