WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for RWBY
RWBY Volume 5 left me feeling quite anxious after it finished. I’ve already made my feelings on it perfectly clear, both in my review and in the episode recaps on The Entertainment Dome, but it meant that I went into Volume 6 with trepidation when it began. Would the quality of the show continue to dip or would it pick itself back up? Some of you no doubt already know the answer, but these reviews are tradition at this point so let’s just get on with it before Volume 7 comes out. Continue reading

We may still have over a month until Volume 6 starts but I’m not leaving this year’s RWBY review until the last minute like previous years. Yep, it’s high time I got round to reviewing Volume 5, a season that my Entertainment Dome co-host and I didn’t exactly have the highest opinion of during its initial run.
But have those opinions changed? Is Volume 5 actually a lot better on its second viewing? Or is it still deserving of all the criticism we gave it? How about we just cut straight to chase and begin the review. Continue reading

Regular listeners of The Entertainment Dome may recall that I already discussed RWBY Volume 4 in great detail during its initial run. Almost every week, my co-host and I would talk about the latest episode and share opinions and theories as to what would come next. But while we did have fun and intend to do weekly recaps of Volume 5 once that starts, those were only first impressions.
Was this volume as amazing as I initially believed it was or does a second viewing reveal some more problematic issues I wasn’t aware of? Let’s find out together, shall we? Continue reading
With James back from holiday, The Entertainment Dome can now resume, and boy, do we have some catching up to do. Specifically, we begin our weekly RWBY recaps with a look at the first two episodes of Volume 4 (and I get a bit too excited) and we share our thoughts on the newly named Nintendo Switch.
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for RWBY Volume 3
It’s that time of year again! At the end of last year’s review of Volume 2, I was feeling slightly more confident about the future of RWBY, but was that confidence well-placed? Did Volume 3 continue to improve or did it crash and burn? Well, enough babbling. Let’s just get right to it and break down the good and the bad of RWBY Volume 3! Continue reading
This week on The Entertainment Dome, our RWBY talk is finally over… and James is not happy. We spend a good while discussing Volume 3 and how it’s simultaneously amazing and heart-breaking, as well as some of our hopes for Volume 4. We also manage to get some quick pre-E3 news in (or as I like to call it, PrE3); specifically some of the leaks that have already emerged.
We’ve got a whole lot of movie talk going on in this week’s episode of The Entertainment Dome. Specifically, we share our opinions on the current state of DC’s movies and theorise what could happen with Nintendo’s own jump into the film industry. Also, I take delight in getting James into RWBY and I probe him for his thoughts on the initial trailers.

Last year, I wrote a review on the first volume of RWBY, the online animated smash hit of RoosterTeeth and the creation of the late, great Monty Oum. I had always planned to review the second volume once it was complete and with Volume 3 already several episodes in, I figured it was now or never. Let’s get things started and review the good and bad of RWBY Volume 2. Continue reading

Earlier this week on February 1st, infamous online animator Monty Oum tragically passed away. His death was sudden and shocking; even as I write this, I still find it hard to believe that he’s gone. I never met him but it’s clear that he touched a lot of people; the fact that even complete strangers on the Internet mourn his passing shows how much of an impact he left on his family, friends, co-workers, fans and anyone who was familiar with his work. I’ve been seeing a lot of tributes to him over the last few days (mostly artwork) so I thought that I should probably do something too. So, I hope you’ll all join me as I reminisce over some of Monty’s past work. And if you’ve never seen his stuff before, prepare to be surprised. Continue reading
