The Ten Best Videogames Ever Made (April Fools)

It’s been over two years since I started writing these articles, and I think it’s about time I did something I’ve wanted to do for ages – write a list about the best videogames ever made.

Now, this isn’t an opinion piece or anything. This is 100% factual. The raw truth. Because, let’s be honest, all those other “Top Whatever Videogames Ever Made” are all bullshit and built on lies and biased views. This list is completely unbiased and is actually written by somebody who truly understands videogames. I mean, have you seen all those other lists? They just put the same games on them over and over again; games that were never that good to begin with and are only considered good because they got a billion good reviews that were probably bought anyway.

But enough ranting. Let’s actually get to what matters – the ten best videogames to have ever been made, in order of their release. Continue reading

The Entertainment Dome Episode 10 – Digital Suicide

WARNING: The following episode contains spoilers for the following:

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 2

Due to reasons, we weren’t actually meant to record an episode last week. But we did it anyway because we don’t play by the rules and not because we didn’t know we weren’t supposed to record.

In this episode, we consider re-branding the show into The Ace Attorney Hour, have a quick natter about what we want to see in Telltale’s upcoming projects and discuss Digital Homicide’s plan to sue Jim Sterling – and how god damn stupid it is.

Pokémon: Mewtwo Returns (Movie Commentary)

Ok, this one’s technically not a movie but screw it; we’ve done it anyway. James and I somehow managed to blunder our way through a one hour special that’s a follow-up to the first Pokémon movie –  a special with underdeveloped morals, useless main characters and Jesus water. Yes, you heard me. Jesus water.

Syncing details are in the video.

What I Liked about Deadpool

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Deadpool

Deadpool could very easily have been a travesty; a complete mess of a movie that ultimately failed to appeal to either the average movie-going public or the die-hard fans. But, it didn’t. While I was certainly looking forward to it (especially when I saw the marketing), it managed to be even better that I initially hoped.

Because of the rather bizarre nature of the film, it’s a bit hard to review it in a traditional sense. So, I figured I’d take take the easy route and simply list off all the things I liked about the movie. Continue reading

My VG Music Picks #27 – Fool or Clown? (Persona 4 Arena Ultimax)

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Persona 4 and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

I have a funny relationship with most fighting games. I’m terrible at them and whenever a new one is announced, I barely bat an eyelid unless it’s Super Smash Bros. At the same time, however, a lot of them have certain aspects that greatly appeal to me and make me want to play them, even though I’d get fed up with them in a couple of days because I just can’t learn how the damn controls work. When Persona 4 Arena came out, I very nearly caved. A follow-up to one of my favourite RPGs ever? Like, a direct sequel story-wise? If it wasn’t for the fact that I wouldn’t have had much fun playing it, I would’ve bought it.

Then the sequel got announced. I wasn’t worried though. If Atlus couldn’t convince me to buy the first one, what made them think I’d get a sequel? The answer was simple. Bring back my favourite character and make them playable. A character so spoiler-y, that I’ve had to hide the video after the “continue reading” bit. Continue reading

Gravity Falls – L’P ZDWFKLQJ BRX

Opening_logo

Why must the good cartoons end so early? Yes, recently, we saw the end of Gravity Falls, possibly one of the best Disney cartoons ever – hell, probably one of the best cartoons period. I only got into the series relatively late (in fact, I started watching the show during it’s Season 2 hiatus) but I feel like I’ve been with it since the beginning. From the very first episode, something about it resonated with me and now that it’s over, there’s an empty hole that needs to be filled by another high quality show (ironic considering I only started watching Gravity Falls because Legend of Korra had ended).

So, since Gravity Falls celebrated its end with one hell of a final episode, I want to celebrate it too in my own way – by explaining why it’s so good and hopefully convince you to watch it if you haven’t already. Continue reading
